I’ve been teaching for more than half my life, in different countries and in different contexts, so you could say that it has always been my calling. As a teacher, my priority is to create a dynamic classroom environment where students are equally involved and supporting each other. At Stafford House School of English students actively participate to learn, and I believe that we are all about fostering an environment where students get opportunities to think and to involve themselves in active participation through lessons, discussions and social activities outside the classroom.

My colourful English teaching career comprises many years and continents. Most notably, I have spent a lot of time teaching in Germany and the United States. I have now returned home to London where I am one of the founding members of the Stafford House London teaching team.

Stafford House is a great place to learn not only a new language, but to learn about new cultures. The classes here offer a positive and dynamic environment that allows students to learn and improve a new language whilst making friends. Teaching and learning here is a very active and fun experience, where humour, dedication and a love of learning produce amazing and brilliant results.

Stafford House, in the very heart of London, is like a microcosm of the world, where people of all backgrounds and cultures can be seen communicating together. Not only does the school have a great location, but it also has a great atmosphere, making it a fun place to work. My aim is to make sure that students find their path to improve their English and most importantly enjoy their experience. I love the technology Stafford House has to offer, which helps teachers to engage students with interesting lessons. I teach EAP and IELTS to help students prepare to study at universities in the UK. Outside of work, I am interested in history, cultural studies, good films and languages.

Originally from Scotland, I spent my university days studying languages. After trying to master the difficult German language in Frankfurt and Hamburg, I decided to turn my hand to teaching what I loved studying. I spent a few years teaching English in Germany and Spain before returning to London. Having learnt a language before, I know how important the city, teachers and school are in creating the best and most enjoyable learning experience. Here at Stafford House I believe we have all three: knowledgeable teachers who love what they do, excellent facilities and fantastic resources, and most importantly, one of the best cities in the world right on our doorstep. I couldn’t think of a better place to learn English!

Hi, I’m from New Zealand and have been teaching at Stafford house since February 2012. It’s a great school and we are always trying to improve, ensuring we give the best possible experience to our students. Like most of the teachers here, I can speak another language so can empathise fully with the trials and tribulations of learning English. Hopefully your time here will make that effort worthwhile and enjoyable too.

I’ve been teaching English for about 7 years now, about half of that in Spain and half in the UK. During this time I’ve met so many wonderful students and they, along with my geeky love of all things language related, are certainly what make doing the job worthwhile. I feel very privileged to have a job where every day is different and where I am not only teaching, but also learning – learning about different people and different cultures all the time.

I taught in Turkey for years where I focused on Upper Intermediate and IELTS preparation. Prior to that I have worked in many language camps with international students, helping them prepare for Trinity and Cambridge tests such as KET and PET as well as teaching general English. I really enjoy teaching because I love interacting with people and learning from each person I teach. The world is getting smaller, so why not use the technology we have and expand our minds in and outside of the classroom.

As cities go, London has to be one of the best in which to learn English. It’s fast-paced, cosmopolitan vibe means there is always something interesting and fun waiting around every corner. After living and teaching English in Sydney, Australia for several years, it’s fantastic to be back teaching in this amazing city. The vast cultural scene in London plays a strong part in my teaching here at Stafford House and I try to incorporate anything and everything that I feel my students will find both engaging and informative. The facilities here at Stafford House also add an exciting edge to classroom life and I work to integrate the wonderful technology available to us here into my lessons as often as I can. The social programme also offers students a vast array of activities from theatre trips to museums to city visits and it’s always a pleasure to be a part of one of these great excursions and spend time with students outside of the school environment! In short, I thoroughly enjoy my work here at Stafford House and believe it really is one of the best (if not THE best!) schools to study at in the UK.
